Written by Karen Molina

The company AES El Salvador (which owns the power distribution CAESS, Clesa, EEO and DEUSEM) said yesterday that next year invest between $ 25 to $ 27 million dollars which aims to expand electricity coverage in most families still do not.

Ricardo Vega, AES Vice President of Operations, said yesterday that the investment involves the expansion of networks, improvements in the quality of energy, infrastructure, computer equipment and more.

In five years, they hope to have covered 95% of the entire national territory and increasing its number of customers in at least 200 thousand people. This year the conglomerate has invested $ 24.7 million which exceeded $ 2 million and a half the number who had planned to reach the end of the year.

With this disbursement 3.053 jobs were maintained in strategic projects. One of the most significant has been the electrification of 500 kilometers of projects Fomilenio flag. A total of 1.300 kilometers of wiring to be installed within the next five years and that energy would lead to thousands of Salvadoran households. Only the project generated 942 jobs

LOOKING AHEAD

energíapara produce more Salvadorans pass through tuning large-scale projects that are still in the plans of AES.

The next is a long term contract that promotes the Superintendency of Electricity and Telecommunications, with which companies will be invited to participate in the generaciónde 300 megawatts in 15 years.

Vega said the bidding documents are ready and expected to be published in the next half of 2011 for the winner to be ready in June, and thereafter, begin to take the time to construction of the power plant. Vega said that because the contract was already established as a legal tool for power generating companies, he does believe that there are sufficient conditions to expand and upgrade the electricity grid.

Another project is also being targeted, but that will depend on the energy demand is the SYSTEM OF Electrical Interconnection of the Countries of Central America (SIEPAC) The first stage is well underway between Panama and Costa Rica.

The AES Executive anticipated that this regional project is already running in 2012 and El Salvador does not rule out importing energy from these countries, every now and then they may also have excess energy. Nicaragua, for example, is currently condéficit energy for which he has had to rationing. At home, Vega says there is no generation gap so that, contrary to import energy, the goal for the future will increase it and export it.

respect to energy rates, Vega said that the constant has been an increase during the rainy winter veranomientras that had been reduced due to the large amount of water that helps to generate more energy. However, rates could rise if a barrel of oil at the international level continues to increase its value.

electricity service is reaching every more residents of municipalities in the rural area. AES El Salvador realized his plan 2010.

electricity service has been most significant, according to the annual report of AES El Salvador.

this year were installed 592 kilometers of electrical networks in areas benefiting from the American project Fomilenio cooperation. work only for this day, requested $ 990.000 by AES, but the end is a joint venture between the companies and donors.

In 2012 "we to be benefiting or increasing about 27,000 customers who will be helped in that area, "said Ricardo Vega, vice president of AES operations in the country, referring to the north. There are the target populations Fomilenio. This year some 5,700 families benefited.

Until 2012, when the execution of the program, will be installed by 1.300 kilometers of electrification at a cost of $ 5 million. In 2011, AES will install 400 miles.

also in rural enterprises that are part of this cluster (CAESS, CLESA, EEO and DEUSEM) spent $ 700.000 to improve construction of private networks in rural areas, as they do not meet basic safety requirements and threatened to users.

Finally, another $ 270,000 was allocated to continue expanding the electricity network in the country with the resources of the National Investment in Electricity and Telecommunications (FINET). The destination of this money is covered by the Fund Act, administered by the state.

The remaining investments

In total, AES has invested $ 24.79 million in various projects throughout 2010 as part of an investment plan for five years and a 10-year global.

Vega said that only in expansion of power distribution networks have invested nearly $ 7.75 million, and infrastructure for the convenience of users $ 19.000.

The goal of the plan is that next year it will invest about $ 25 million.

One of the factors that enable the company to increase the amount of investment is the change in the tariff schedule of six months to three months. This adjustment in the collection of electricity bills will have space for greater availability of cash (see side note).

AES is pending for 5% coverage of energy, equivalent to about 200,000 users, and that over time have achieved 90% coverage throughout its area of \u200b\u200binfluence.

Mario Martínez: the challenge

In August 1986 the leader of the Federation of Students of the University of Santiago (Feusach) ex Ute. Mario Martinez Rodriguez was found dead on the beaches of Santo Domingo.
Since then, the cause of death is still unknown, as are hundreds of murder cases that occurred during the 17 years of dictatorship civil-military. The authorities of the time made no effort to clarify the facts, rather the difficulty, as the initial intimidation of witnesses by the usual unknown civilians.
Twenty years later, the situation has not changed much, although they have already spent twenty years since democracy was restored. Efforts to clarify the crimes and disappearances continue to be unsuccessful. So remember this date should serve to reflect on a pending task for the truth.
Commemorate Mario does not have a hateful purpose is a fond remembrance by the leader, friend, comrade of routes and the man who today could serve his country as a professional. However, his memory still has the bitter taste of truth and justice so outstanding.
This should be one of the major challenges of the bicentennial of the republic, having the certainty that their future will be built on solid ethical and democratic pillars. Not forgetting the pardon or contribute to it.
Mario, just as others, representing all victims of the dictatorship, spread throughout the country national, whose family still require to find his remains, the truth of the facts and justice. The main responsibility lies with the civilian and military until today hold positions of national importance, the military branches and their intelligence agencies, can help it and the civilians who collaborated with Pinochet.
This should be one of the major challenges of the bicentennial of the republic, having the certainty that their future will be built on solid ethical and democratic pillars. Not forgetting the pardon or contribute to it.
Thus, the promise we did twenty-four years ago can fulfill: Mario's death is "the seed of freedom". keep reading this memory of Joseph T Romero here or delivery your opinion in comments
