Children and Adolescents

Children and teenagers across the country expressed their views and defended their rights
Representatives of all Chile's regions gathered in a council to discuss and analyze what are the major shortcomings on the issue of child rights. The meeting, organized by Fundación Mi Casa Hogar de Cristo, Corporación Opción, Paicabí SOS Children's Villages, was attended by UNICEF Representative, Gary Stahl, the Regional Director Sename, Paula de la Cerda, Mariana Loyola and actors and Francisco Melo.

This August 14 we celebrated the 20th anniversary of the ratification of the Convention on the Rights Children's in Chile, and what better celebration than to give voice to them. Therefore, representatives from all regions, between 12 and 15 years, raised their difficulties, proposals and views on the major problems experienced throughout the country.

domestic violence, bullying in schools, sexual abuse and child labor were some of the problems that children exposed to an attentive audience. In addition, they made known real solutions to end the injustices, such as improving the quality of education, strengthen ethical issues in schools, enhance security in neighborhoods and provide better and more space for recreation.
