On February 18 FOMILENIO AES El Salvador and made an opening ceremony of rural electrification project benefiting 24 municipalities in the departments of San Miguel, Morazán and La Union as part of a public private partnership between AES and Fomilenio to take power from 2009 to 2011, more than 30 thousand families.

With this project, which developed cost more than $ 697 000 were built 265 kilometers of line and electricity benefiting 2.685 families Salvadoran poor.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Jorge Herrera, Director of Project Development of AES El Salvador, José Ángel Quirós, FOMILENIO Executive Director, Representative of the Millennium Challenge Corporation and Mr. Ignacio Fuentes, Mayor Cacaopera City and representatives of beneficiary communities.

AES El Salvador, raised in the villages of the municipalities benefiting from this project, more than 2 000 people through direct communication, giving talks to target communities for the first time receive service, how to read and understand the electricity bill, payment points closer to their home places, tips for safe use of electricity and how to keep the subsidy. This also offered to new users of each village, printed material which simulates the new bill, where are all the basic information of interest.

This whole educational work of AES El Salvador developed with the support of municipalities and communities benefit FOMILENIO project is part of the commitment of distributors to promote quality of life in the communities it serves.

Technical Institute Ricaldone Agreement between AES and El Salvador: Exchange of knowledge and experience


AES El Salvador, through its Technical Training College and Technical Institute Ricaldone formalize this day an agreement whose main objective is the exchange of knowledge and infrastructure to theoretical training / personnel practices to AES El Salvador and Ricaldone students.

This partnership will complement the practical experience already possessed by the employees of AES El Salvador, with the training and competency-based methodology provided by the Institute Ricaldone. For their part, high school teachers will be trained by AES personnel, allowing them to replicate the knowledge with their students.

For skill development, AES El Salvador built a patio practices within Ricaldone Institute, which has the distribution network structures of greater use. Additionally, the school also donated a truck for the purpose basket to strengthen practical skills to enable real working conditions, and in an area that provides all necessary security measures for this type of work.

The Contribution of AES El Salvador on this type of agreement is a sign of interest and commitment of the company, for sharing their knowledge and experiences with new generations.
